This convertor is a IDE to S-ATA converter. If there is no IDE connection free in the computer system, but there are free S-ATA connections, you can use this convertor to convert your IDE hard disk or CD-ROM player to a S-ATA device. Now this device can be connect to the free S-ATA controller.
